Become a CASA
Volunteer
Speak up for a child
A Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteer gathers information from everyone involved in a child’s daily life who is in the foster care system, including members of the child’s family, foster parents, teachers, lawyers, social workers, and other relevant persons.
Then, they report to a judge in order to advocate for the child’s best interest.
Ideally, CASA volunteers work toward reuniting the child with their family of origin, whenever safe. If reunification is not possible, CASA may recommend placing the child with extended family or friends of the family or assist the Department of Family and Protective Services in their efforts to find an adoptive family.
CASA volunteers, like the children they help, come from all walks of life. A background in the legal field or social work is not required. We will train you how to properly work a case and advocate for your CASA child(ren).
